WHAT IS THE SOUTHERN TASTE OF DALLAS AWARDS?
Our Story
The Southern Taste of Dallas Awards Weekend is a two-day cultural celebration spotlighting the culinary brilliance and community contributions of Black-owned restaurants, food trucks, ghost kitchens, and health-conscious eateries across Dallas. More than just an awards show, this expanded weekend experience—taking place July 23-24 at The Shops at RedBird—brings together food lovers, influencers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders for an unforgettable blend of flavor, culture, and connection.
The event kicks off with a Food Truck Park & Kids Fun Zone, featuring 20+ vendors, free meals for kids, bounce houses, and family-friendly vibes. Day two features the Restaurant & Resource Expo, designed specifically for restaurateurs and food entrepreneurs. This day offers access to industry panels, culinary showcases, wellness resources, and business-building tools—plus a College Expo to inspire and empower the next generation of culinary leaders. The finale is the Southern Taste of Dallas Awards Show Gala, where over 20 standout culinary creatives are honored in categories like Dallas Favorite Soul Food, Dallas Favorite Vegan, Dallas Favorite Seafood, and more— creating a platform that celebrates excellence and elevates local food heroes.
